An epic Easter Minden Wave day along the Sierra.
The day played out as forecast...blue in the south and too much moisture in the north...Minden had a 40% chance of rain after 11 am.
Declared a 1,018 km Out & Return...completed the task in 3 hr 59 min 27 sec for World, North American, and US record claims of 255 kph. Also beat the US 750 km O&R speed record plus the North American and US 500 km O&R speed records and US 300 km O&R speed record.
On the last leg a thick undercast to the north and northeast of Herlong precluded pressing on for 3,000 km.
Joshua Approach and Oakland Center gave outstanding service including IFR clearances with block altitudes up to FL260.
