The forecast called for good wave conditions between Inyokern and Bridgeport early in the day with winds turning NW'ly later, suggesting diminishing wave conditions in the north. However, it also suggested improving wave conditions south of Inyokern to Gorman. We headed north early and found good wave until we encountered clouds at Mono Lake where we turned south. As expected, the wave weakened as we turned SW near Inyokern. We continued to make slow progress SW'ly until we reached Cal City. Our third leg to the north ended near Bishop because of weakening lift. The fourth leg south was much stronger and allowed us to reach Gorman. We then turned north reaching Lone Pine where the winds became more NW'ly and the lift weakened. Turning south we reached Inyokern well before sunset and were able to increase our triangle size by going 40 km downwind and then returning to our primary in order to close our triangle. We then obtained clearance to overfly R-2515 to land at Apple Valley completing our final leg.
