Day that was surprisingly good, even if kinda low. Highest bases I saw all day were a bit over 11k, lift was generally 4 knots or so. Moderate easterly flow early, northerly later in the day. Got off at 5.4k off of Chukar's dare right into good lift. The clouds were low, but very close together and easy to connect into great dolphin runs. Kinda felt like a good ol' 6k agl Texas day, except it was frigid cold and you occasionally passed peaks that were 1000' below you. Getting back from Lantana Ranch was easy. Lots of dolphining and just took 1 peace of mind final climb that turned out to be totally unnecessary as I did 120 knots the last 15 miles just to bring the Ventus down. Unfortunately, today was the Air Sailing banquet so landed early, I could have definitely racked up more miles otherwise.
