Planned to fly with 6T primarily but KY and RK planned to fly it also. I had a hard time getting going so we were 10 mins late getting started. I thought light winds would have been helpful but instead it meant the thermals weren't organized or in the same places. Some were weak, some were very strong. Wondered if it would be possible before DD Ranch, especially when KY dropped and returned home. We were 30 mins late turning DD Ranch but the day was getting going good and we were seeing strong climbs and tops around 6,500' so we kept going. The run to Cameron was pretty good, with some more strong climbs and tops over 7k. It got soft near Cameron but I finally caught up with 6T and we ran together for a while around the Cameron turn and heading for home. It started getting kind of weak and 6T went more easterly and I went more westerly. There were still some good clouds but they were dwindling quickly. 6T struggled and barely avoided a field landing but was able to make it to Navasota, thankfully. I nearly had to do the same thing but got one weak climb and was able to make it home. Yahoo!!!Pilot
