Another 1k foot on tow would have been enough to reach the west side of the convergence line. Once I was down to 10k over Sugarloaf and the convergence line was west of the Peak to Peak Hwy, I saw no way of getting there with enough safety margin to come back out in case the expected lift would not materialize. This was a day where you have one chance off tow to make it to the west and climb. I missed that chance and it was game over. Still had some fun flying along the Flatirons in weak south-easterly ridge lift that was just enough to maintain altitude at ridge top level. Posting as a learning experience.
