An interesting late September afternoon, even with the forecast downgraded from last night.
Thought there would be wave from some of the early clouds and the feel at the top of lift shortly after release.
Winds were up to 19Kts at times, direction varied a lot.
Tried to get west to the convergence in the Tehachapis but that didn't work. Got high again and headed north from Double Mountain.
Following the convergence I'd seen forecast in the morning took me to just above Breckenridge. Indicated wind went "still" on top and there was good lift. A cloud formed during the climb. Continued north to the W side of the Kern River Canyon. Crossed east just north of Kernville. Just made it to the clouds near Pine Flat. Would have gone further north, but there was a fire near Sherman Peak. Turned Sirretta Peak / Piute Peak / Pine Flat Peak and back to Double Mtn.
Lots of migrating vultures, and plenty of ravens near home were having a good time.
