Flew and completed :-) the big boys' task designed by Bruno. 3 turn areas, nominal distance over 300 nautical miles. Did quite well to the first TP (the clouds almost touched the NW end). Then got lower than I liked and spent way too much time in weak lift to reconnect. Convergence run south into a 20kt headwind. Worked great as long as there were clouds. Last 70 km or so to the southern turnpoint was in the blue. I was quite intimidated by it and took every little climb I could find to stay above 16k. I'm sure that cost a lot of speed because the thermals tended to be stronger below. I'm sure I could have been more selective but my risk tolerance was quite low despite having good landable places in glide (Richfield airport most of the time). Super fast run back north once I was back in touch with the clouds. Then long final glide in the blue through the gap. Started the final glide with MC4. Lots of lift along the way. Flew 120 kts indicated and finished a few thousand feet too high. Had the Ventus loaded with 2/3 of water. Made a big difference in glide performance. Have to get used to the massive pull ups into thermals. Great fun! Task speed 70.8 kts = 81.4 mph
