First wave flight out of Moriarty. Entirely blue except for some very high lenticulars much further W than where I flew. Did a bunch of N/S back and forth utilizing the wave off the Sandias, Manzanitas, Manzanos and South Mountain. Entering the wave without the help of a ridge like I used to at Air Sailing turned out to be reasonably easy. I released at 8.8k (2.6k AGL) a bit N of the Moriarty solar farm and did a bunch of S turns in what I think was rotor to slowly gain altitude. Throughout the day I fell out of the wave a few times, but nothing unrecoverable. Spend most of the day in what I think was the secondary, but also spent a bit of time in the tertiary abeam Estancia and Willard and did a few upwind and downwind wave jumps. Got myself into the sink side of the wave and lost a bunch of altitude around 16:15 N of Sandia Park. I was hoping to make one more leg to Abo before calling it a day, but it was too late with the sunset time this late in the year and regaining the altitude I just lost would have cost even more time so headed on back for a landing just before 17:00.
