Nice blue wave day. 40-55 WNW winds aloft. Only mildly cold as I never saw temperatures in the single digits of Fahrenheit and had plenty of sunlight to warm the cockpit. Did several N/S back and fourths flying in the lee of the Sandias, Monzanos, South Mountain, Ortiz Mountains and the Manzanitas. All but the Manzanitas at times produced some pretty fierce lift, occasionally over 10 knots. The Manzanitas did produce lift, but it was uneven and pretty weak. I initially found the lift off of tow just N of the solar farm west of town without too much trouble and S turned flying slowly to gain altitude. I did several wave jumps both upwind and downwind throughout the day and never really got any lower than 14k. I was hoping to make one final run S from the lee of Sandia Crest down towards Mountainair/Abo but it was just getting too late in the day and I didn't feel like derigging by candlelight so turned home around 15:30.
