Puzzeled by the forecast i didn't really have a good plan. The trip towards west against the wind and outspread proved to be slow yesterday, so a trip to france via belgium seemed far fetched. In the morning a quick look at the satelitte pictures showed developing showers and outspread coming from the West but at Malden it still looked very good. North South it was still not overdeveloped, and my idea was to fly first North, and come back before the showers from west arrive / fly in front of them / and around them. But by the time I was near Raalte, it was outspreaded everywere, except in the North along the Ijsselmeer shore, where it looked very good actually. The only problem was now the head wind component, which was between 35-40 km/h. All the way to the afsluitdijk conditions were ok, but the cloud base was getting lower. The way back outspreaded quickly and I needed a lot patience. Before Borculo, surrounded by three showers didn't find the right path in between them and ended up with an outlanding on a nice field. Despite the outlanding and the low average speed - a very beautiful flight. Friesland is beautiful.
