The SkySight forecast predicted a mostly blue day with wave from Chos north to Mendoza strengthening as the day went on.
Pre sunrise launch into blue conditions and weak wave. Slow run north to near Mendoza over unfamiliar terrain. Amazing soaring next to such high mountains with Aconcagua visible in the distance. Lost contact with the wave much higher than expected and spent an hour grinding in thermals and rotor until finally getting back up into the wave. Thank you to the 2 condors that soared with us and directed us to better lift. Easy run south in now stronger conditions marked by leticulars between Malargue and Chos Malal. Post sunset landing.
