Dear competitor,
Spring is arriving and the new gliding season is about to start. The OLC is once again well positioned and brings many innovations. For this goal, a smoothly and constantly updated OLC, we all work on a voluntary basis in the non-profit “Segelflugszene”. Entry fees are not charged, all services are free of charge. They are financed by donations. Membership in the “Segelflugszene”, which is rewarded with a smiley, is a pure gesture of sympathy.
Our goal is to keep the sport of gliding exciting for participants and the public throughout the season. With the daily score, the OLC got the decentralized competition out of its lack of transparency 20 years ago and then with the speed / league competition from the fixation on the particularly long-distance spring days. At the same time we have created a daily team / club rating.
With "WeGlide", another platform has now been created to which the German Aero Club has switched with the DMSt. We are happy to face this competitive situation, as it spurs us on to further improvements so that the OLC will maintain its position as the international competitive platform. The 7200 scored flights from the southern hemisphere and the total of around 14,000 registered pilots speak for the continued popularity of the OLC.
In this tradition we will continue to do everything in our power to promote the development of sporty gliding. We wish you a good competition season 2021 with many exciting flights.
